Council Seeks Independent Chair for Flood Inquiry

Following yesterday’s meeting of the Executive which approved the creation of an independent inquiry into the flooding in York over the Christmas period, the council is seeking qualified members of the public to apply for the role of Chair of the inquiry. 

More Financial Support Available for People Affected by Floods

York residents and businesses who suffered flood damage over the holidays will be eligible to receive up to £5,000 as part of a “resilience grant” to help upgrade their property for future flood events as part of a package of support to be made available by the Government.

Public Consultation on York Central Begins

Public consultation on the proposed development of York’s 72ha York Central site begins on Monday for a four week period, from Monday 18 January – Monday 15 February.
