Councillor to councillor: Let’s meet for the good of Acomb

Acomb Ward Conservative councillor Keith Myers has issued an invitation to his Labour counterpart to meet for ward meetings after it has emerged that Cllr. Stuart Barnes has met only six times in the last 3 ½ years with his ward colleague and ward officers, and not once in 2018.

More support for care leavers

Due to Conservative government legislation, care leavers can now access the support of local authority care leaving teams until they are 25 years old, and York council is making sure that young people who have been in care are aware this positive change.

Opportunity Fair for young people with special educational needs

Askham Bryan College will host York’s ninth annual Opportunities Fair on Wednesday 11 July, from 9.30am-2pm, giving young people with special educational needs a chance to investigate where their talents might take them in the future.
