Councillor - Copmanthorpe ward

Chris Steward was a councillor for Rural West York from 2011-2019 and since 2023 has been the councillor for Copmanthorpe. Chris has lived in York all his life, from Askham Richard to the city centre and has lived in Copmanthorpe since 2023. He is the current Leader of the Conservative Group on City of York Council and from 2015-16 was Leader of the Council. His current committees include Planning Committee, Economy & Place Scrutiny Committee and he is also a member of Copmanthorpe Parish Council.

Away from being a councillor, Chris works in York in Investment Management and in his spare time enjoys watching sport including Yorkshire and England cricket and Leeds United.
