Councillor - Osbaldwick and Derwent ward

Martin was elected as a Councillor for the Osbaldwick & Derwent Ward in 2019 and retained his seat in 2023. He and his family have lived in Osbaldwick since 2001, and own a family business in the City.  Martin is the current Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group on the City of York Council, and he Chairs the Council’s Joint Standards Committee.  As an Army Veteran, Martin is the Armed Forces Advocate for the council, and works closely with the current Army units in York, and the many Veterans groups.  In his spare time, he is a Sheffield Wednesday season ticket holder, and plays the Eb Bass in the York RI Development Band.
